Letter to Future/Present Self

Dear Katie,

In order to be successful in your photography class, you need to be creative with every prompt. Looking on Pinterest is great way to get some inspiration. However, don't just pick the first idea you see. Instead scroll through and you'll see some amazing projects. Also, you're going to hate some of the prompts, but don't give up on your designs. Keep working and they'll start to look how you imagined. When taking your photos, don't wait until it gets dark outside and you have no good, natural lighting. Plan ahead to the perfect time for you to take your pictures, where all the elements like lighting and shadows look how you want them. In Photoshop, don't just use the same three tools over and over again. That can get boring. Be creative and use a plethora of different tools and visuals. In class, you will have downtime. That just occurs naturally when you finish one project and have a day or two off before starting the next one. Just don't procrastinate on the next project. Keep up with your assignments and you'll do just fine. As an idea of what you are capable of, I have added your favorite piece of work. It is not the most challenging, but definitely the most creative.
